UNSW Sydney

UNSW Sydney

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Brief information

According to AbbreviationFinder, UNSW Sydney can trace its roots back to the Sydney Mechanics Institute, founded in 1843, and became the university in 1949. It is one of the eight best universities in Australia, the so-called Group of Eight (G8), and is considered Australia’s leading university in terms of internationality.

The members of the Group of Eight attach great importance to high-quality teaching and research. Between the members of this group there are, among other things, networks for the exchange of knowledge and exchange between teachers and students. This also benefits UNSW Australia, which has numerous good connections to the other universities in the Group of Eight as well as the top universities in Asia, North America, Western Europe and the UK.

In the 2011 QS World University Rankings, UNSW Australia was ranked 46th among all universities worldwide, which is particularly remarkable given that only a few Australian universities are listed in the top 50 universities overall. The 2012 Good Universities Guide gives them the top five-star rating in seven different categories, including Student-Staff Ratio, Staff Qualifications, and Cultural Diversity.

International students have the opportunity to study in various study programs at UNSW Australia such as semesters abroad and language courses. But bachelor’s and master’s degrees and other programs can also be completed.
