International students are offered the opportunity to study at the university for one or two semesters as part of the semester program Study Abroad at RMIT University. There is the possibility of free semester and cross-departmental course selection from all university courses of the bachelor’s and master’s programs offered at RMIT University. In addition, students can also complete a “Study Abroad Package” on specific subject areas, which consists of pre-packaged courses.

The desired courses are already specified in the application. Course selection must be approved by the relevant department at RMIT University. As a rule, one receives together with the commitment for the Study Abroad program also a confirmation of the approved courses.

Financing options

In order to finance a semester abroad at RMIT University, students can apply for foreign BAföG , among other things. If there is an individual entitlement to funding, you can receive support for living expenses, travel expenses and health insurance costs as well as a subsidy towards tuition fees of up to EUR 4,600.

Requirements

Applicants to the RMIT University semester program must have a high school diploma.

In addition, prospective students must prove that they have a sufficiently good knowledge of English. This is usually done through a standardized language test such as the TOEFL or the IELTS. Alternatively, RMIT University also accepts a DAAD test with at least B2 in all areas or an English grade of 3 in the Abitur.

Campus

RMIT University has three campuses: the City Campus, the Bundoora Campus, and the Brunswick Campus. In addition, there are offshoots in Vietnam and Spain.

Located between LaTrobe, Elizabeth, Queensberry and Russell Streets, the main campus in downtown Melbourne blends perfectly with city life. Students can easily combine learning with fun.

The Bundoora campus, on the other hand, is nestled in the trees 18 kilometers northeast of Melbourne and is a little less urban. Plenty Road divides it into east and west. There are state-of-the-art technologies for studying in Biosciences, Education or Medical Sciences.

Just three miles from the city center and five minutes from bustling Sydney Road, where there are many shops, markets and much more, the Brunswick campus boasts award-winning architecture and an expansive setting.

Here you can complete courses in the fields of textiles, printing or education. All three locations are equipped with a very good local transport network.
