The academic year at Massey University is divided into two semesters.
Study programs

International students are offered the opportunity to study at Massey University for one or two semesters as part of the semester program Study Abroad. There is the possibility of free semester and cross-departmental selection from all courses of the master’s and bachelor’s degree programs offered at Massey University.
The desired courses are already specified in the application. Course selection must be approved by the relevant Massey University department. As a rule, you will also receive confirmation of the approved courses together with the acceptance for the Study Abroad program.
Because Massey University has two more locations in Auckland and Wellington in addition to the Palmerston North location, it is even possible to study the first semester on the campus in Palmerston North and the second in Auckland or Wellington. Other combinations are also possible, provided that the desired courses are offered on the respective campus.
As a special feature, in addition to the regular Study Abroad program at Massey University, a Rugby Study Abroad program is also offered. In addition to the university courses, you can also play rugby in the Massey Club Team and take part in the training sessions. The rugby season runs from February to June.

Requirements
German applicants for the Study Abroad program must have successfully completed the first year of study at the time of departure for New Zealand.
All international applicants must also prove that they have a sufficiently good knowledge of English. This proof can be provided by one of the classic language tests such as the TOEFL or IELTS.
German applicants can also prove their language skills by taking a DAAD test. In this case, you must also submit a letter of recommendation from your home university.

Studying at Massey University gives you the opportunity to study in one of the two largest cities on New Zealand’s North Island. The sites in Wellington and Albany (Auckland) are complemented by the original campus, the Manawatu campus in Palmerston North.
More than 150 courses in the fields of Sciences, Education, Business and Humanities and Social Sciences are offered here. With around 9,000 students, Massey Palmerston North is New Zealand’s “top address” for life sciences, agriculture, horticulture and veterinary science in teaching and research.
The Massey Campus in Auckland is considered New Zealand’s most modern university campus. Here, the approximately 7,000 students are offered over 70 courses, including in the fields of Mathematics and Information Sciences, Fundamental Sciences, Food Technology, Engineering, Design, Jazz, Social Sciences, Business and Education. The location in Auckland is also called the “Innovation Campus” of Massey University.
The “Creative Campus” of Massey University is located in the heart of the New Zealand capital Wellington. Here there are courses in the areas of communication, business, health and well-being as well as creative arts. New Zealand’s most prestigious design faculty is housed here, as are well-known public health research centres, the Sleep/Wake Research Center and the Center for Small and Medium Enterprise Research.

Palmerston North
Palmerston North is the fourth largest city on New Zealand’s North Island. More than 75,000 people live here, with around a third of all residents being between 15 and 30 years old.
The city has many facilities that one would expect to find in larger cities, while still being compact and livable. In Palmerston North, accommodation is affordable, there are numerous cafes and restaurants, as well as a multiplex cinema and plenty of shopping opportunities, and the city has an international airport.
