Pre-Christmas In The Third Quarter

What Are The Exams And The Now Beginning The Last Trimester Of Pregnancy.

P1. How Many Consultations I Will Be In The Third Quarter.

Between 28 and 36 weeks, will have to go to query every two weeks. And, in the last month of pregnancy, will go every week.

P2. What The Doctor Will Do In Each Query?

Ask how you feel physically and emotionally and resume any issues that have arisen in the previous query.

Ask how often feel the baby move and remember you must contact him if you feel diminished activity. You can even ask him to start counting baby’s movements.

Record your vital data. Weigh, urinalysis to detect signs of preeclampsia, urinarytract infections and other problems; view blood pressure; and see if the ankles, hands and face are swollen.

Abdominal Examination to determine the size and position of the baby. Will measure also the distance between the pubic bone and the top of the uterus, to ensure that the child is growing normally.

Possibly will notice the cervix. Don’t count on a pelvic exam on all queries. Manydoctors only make them if you have any specific concerns, such as the possibility of premature birth. After the date of expiry, the doctor will examine the cervix in order to decide whether it will induce labor.

Explain that signs should be aware of. Inform about the signs of premature birthand pre-eclampsia and will review other warning signs that require to be examined. As the date of term approaches, will speak about the signs of childbirth and tell you when to call him.

Answers your questions about labour and expulsion. Take a list and ask your partner for help.

Discuss postpartum decisions as, for example, if you want to breastfeed, your son circumcised or use contraceptives that are in need of a prescription. If you have not your pediatrician, doctor will recommend some.

P3. What Tests Do I Have To Do In The Third Quarter.

According to your situation, may be asked the following tests or analyses:

Hematocrit/hemoglobin. This blood test on the anemia will be held in the third quarter. (If you have carried out this analysis when the blood sugar test if the resultsare normal, you may not have to repeat now.)

Screening of gestational diabetes. If the blood test was normal in the second quarter, you don’t need to do anything else. However, if you have not already done this test, or if the test has revealed anomalous results and has not yet done the glucose tolerance test, this is the time to do it.

RH antibody Screening. If your blood is Rh negative, the screening of antibodieswill be repeated (usually at the same time blood glucose test) and at 28 weeks, will receive an injection of anti-D immunoglobulin. This will prevent the development ofantibodies that would constitute a risk to the baby if part of the baby’s blood intoyour bloodstream during this quarter.

Analyses to sexually transmitted infections. If your risk of contracting these diseases is high, your doctor will perform cervical cultures to detect Chlamydia or gonorrhea and will request a blood test for syphilis screening. It is wise to also make HIV analysis, if there is any possibility to have contracted from the first analysis.

Group B strep test between 35 and 37 weeks, will be subjected to an analysis that you want to check for the existence of Group B Streptococcus (GBS) in the vaginaand the rectum. If the cultures are positive, you will not receive immediate treatment, since early treatment does not constitute guarantee that bacteria can’t get back. (If you have previously given birth to a child with GBS, may not do this analysis, given that, either way, will receive antibiotics during delivery.)
