The Duros Tablet PC is a genuine outdoor PC. In contrast to the already here this is switched to OLPC and the Asus EEE, specifically for the outdoor area built.
The case is against dust and water according to IP 65 standard protected, can be used so both in the desert and in the rain. Also the operating temperature from-20 to + 50 degrees Celsius is remarkable. In addition, the device is tested to MIL STD 810F standard vibration, shock, and falls. Thus, the Duros should be well equipped for hard use in outdoor.
But now to the inner values:
- Optional Intel Celeron M 1.0 GHz or AMD Geode™ LX 800 processor
- Up to 1 GB RAM
- 8.4-inch touchscreen with SVGA (800 × 600 pixels)
- 40 to 120 GB hard disk or Flash memory up to 64 GB
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, optional: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, WCDMA, GPS
The Duros Tablet PC is quite handy (260 x 198 x 43 mm), also quite heavy but with just under 2 kg in weight. A highlight is certainly the “hot swappable battery”, i.e. the battery may be changed during operation.
The price of the device I could bring nothing in experience unfortunately, I assume however, that he will be more than well above that of the OLPC or the ASUS EEE.
