The European Union has decided that it must be able to be removed from the search engines, and Google is now ready with their solution.
It has been adopted by the European Court of Justice, that EU citizens have a right to be removed from the search engines, if the results from the search engine is “insufficient, irrelevant or outdated or excessive in relation to the intended purpose.” Google is now ready with a form, if you want to remove.
Google writes that they will evaluate each application to be removed from their search results, since they must take into account both the individual’s right to privacy and the public interest in the information.
Americans are still working on a permanent solution, but until it is in place, do EU citizens who would like to forget, make do with this temporary form.
If you would like to request to be removed from Google’s search results, the form can be found here.
